Yes, you can. The ATB Advantage Account can be a joint account, and applications can be done online.
Within Alberta, you pay regular fees at non-ATB ABMs. You should be notified of these fees and prompted to approve them before proceeding with the transaction.
Withdraw cash at any ABM outside Alberta, but within Canada, on our dime. We'll reimburse up to $4.50 per withdrawal for up to five withdrawals per month.
Travelling outside of Canada? Withdraw cash at any ABM on the Cirrus® network for a fee of $5 per withdrawal (this does not include fees you may agree to pay when making the withdrawal at the non-ATB ABM). We'll reimburse $8 for one withdrawal each month at ABMs in the US.5
After you've applied and been approved for overdraft protection, you won't pay for it unless you decide to use it. If Overdraft Protection is used, only monthly interest will be charged. Interest is calculated daily on the daily closing overdrawn balance at 17.25% per annum, charged and payable monthly.4
Overdraft Protection is only available by application and on approved credit.

- Are at least 18 years old and a resident of Alberta.
- Haven't had an ATB chequing account, savings account, Mastercard, or personal loan with us in the last 3 years.
- Open a new eligible chequing account during the offer period and provide a valid email address so we can keep you updated on your bonus status.
- Keep your accounts active and in good standing for at least 12 months.

To earn your cash bonus of $400*, simply open an ATB Advantage Account and complete these two steps within 60 days of opening your account:
1. Set up your recurring direct deposit of $350 or more (like your payroll, pension, or government deposits). To qualify, you’ll need to receive at least one deposit per month for two months in a row.
2. Make two eligible payments. Complete at least two payments of $50 or more each. You can mix and match from the following:
- Bill payments: Pay your utilities, internet, or phone bill.
- Pre-authorized debits: Set up automatic payments for things like your car insurance, gym membership, or credit card bill.
When will I get my bonus? Once you've met the requirements, we’ll deposit the cash directly into your eligible ATB chequing account. You can expect to see your bonus within 60 days of meeting all the offer criteria.

Applicable on new 3 to 5-year non-redeemable GIC RRSP and TFSA accounts, a one-time bonus rate will be applied up to a maximum of $25,000.00 as the total of each investment (i.e. if the account has more than $25,000 in it, the bonus rate only applies to the first $25,000). ABM withdrawals are converted to Canadian dollars using an exchange rate 2.5% above the exchange rate set by Mastercard International Incorporated (which operates the Cirrus® ATM Network). Some transactions may take a few days to be processed. You’ll be charged the applicable exchange rate on the day your transaction goes through your account, not necessarily the rate on the day you made the transaction.
